What started with a friendly email in perfect Spanish ended in a big flattering surprise (in perfect English). When Gabaccia from ‘Stranded on Land’ contacted us in regards to spending a weekend at our place to see what we are all about, we off course did our homework first and made sure we have some understanding of what sort of travel brand she and her company represent. We searched their website (the old one at the time) and social media feeds and found their message, philosophy and brand approach completely resonated with us. We also identified it to be a passion-project by a group of young, out-of-the-box thinking entrepreneurs and agreed to having one of their editors stay with us, feeling fairly safe to have them ‘cast judgement on us’.
From the moment the team arrived to when they left, we could see how much they enjoyed it here, so much so that we almost forgot to do the interview. The whole experience was initially to be translated into a feature for their 24-hour guide and when the publishing date was moved we were a little deflated. Then the surprise came. ‘Stranded on Land’ not only featured us, they used all their visuals of Playa 55 for the home page on their newly launched website and featured Playa 55 as their ‘favorite beach escape in Yucatan’. We were blown away, are grateful and in awe of the beautifully captured imagery by Roberto Flores Buck and Gabaccia and appreciate their comprehensive presentation, humbled by the praise we received in their feature.
Thank you guys!
